Baking And Glazing Policy
Baking and Glazing Timeline
The baking process will take a minimum of 45 days or more, depending on the availability of the furnace and other technical factors. A similar timeline will apply for glazing. The academy does not guarantee an exact completion date, as delays can occur due to various reasons such as technical issues, high volume, and furnace availability.
-
Cracking during Drying or Firing
Cracks may occur during the drying process or while firing in the furnace. Various factors contribute to cracking, including uneven kneading, improper wedging, and trapped air bubbles. As the articles are made and kneaded by students/participants, the academy cannot be held responsible for any cracks that occur during these stages. These are inherent to the nature of ceramics and are inevitable to some extent. -
Responsibility for Repairs
In the event of cracking, the academy is not liable to repair the article. The student/participant is responsible for repairing their own work. If a crack occurs during the drying stage, the article will not be sent for baking as it may cause further damage, including potential damage to other articles or the furnace. -
Handling Cracked Articles
- If the article cracks during drying, it will not proceed to the baking process.
- If a crack occurs in the furnace, the article may not be salvaged, and other items in the batch may be affected.
- If the article cracks after the glazing or baking stage, participants must wait for the next available slot for re-baking or re-glazing. There is no guarantee that the article will be repaired or restored to its original state.
-
Minor Cracks and Repairs
If a minor crack occurs and is repairable, the academy will assist in the repair process but cannot guarantee a perfect result. After the repair, the article will be sent for re-baking or re-glazing. We ask for patience as this process may take time. -
Refund Policy
No refunds will be provided under any circumstances. By participating in the courses, students/participants acknowledge and accept this policy, understanding the nature of ceramics and the risks involved in the process. -
Firing Charges
The academy will only charge for firing services. Delivery charges are not included in the firing fee. The participant is responsible for paying the delivery charges directly to the delivery person or service. The academy will assist in initiating the delivery process but will not be held responsible for any damages that occur during transportation or delivery. -
Liability Disclaimer
The academy is not liable for any damage that occurs during transportation or delivery, as these are handled by third-party services. We advise participants to inspect their articles upon delivery and report any issues directly to the delivery service provider. The academy cannot be held responsible for any damages incurred once the article leaves our facility. -
Delivery Process
While we do not handle the final delivery ourselves, we will help initiate the process to ensure that the participant’s article reaches them in a timely manner. Delivery charges and potential damage during transport are the sole responsibility of the student/participant. -
Acknowledgment
By submitting your articles for baking, glazing, or any related services, you acknowledge and accept all terms of this policy. It is important to understand that ceramics is a delicate and unpredictable process, and the academy’s role is to assist in the creation and finishing of your work to the best of our ability.
